We are praying to find a home located on or near-by Trinity street, which is located in the Sunrise Hastings area of East Van. Why this street you may ask, well...
A good number of YWAM staff are located in or around this area, it is an established neighborhood (built in the 1930's) and has walkable access to parks and shopping. We're hoping now that we've scoped out the landscape and know more specifically what we're looking for that we could have a Vancouver contact do a walk through if we see something that looks like "the one".
I'm reminded of the story from Numbers 13, when God sends out the twelve spies to survey the Promised Land. The twelve return home, and Joshua and Caleb are the only ones to return with true testaments of what they witnessed in their 40 day journey. The other 10 scouts gave clouded over reports of the truth and let their fear of Giants and fortified cities overwhelm their trust in God. The Israelites had to decide based on these reports to either enter the Promised Land or retreat, and as they chose to retreat they were exiled to wander the wilderness for 40 years! Joshua and Caleb were the only two men from that generation permitted to go to the Promised Land. There have been so many circumstances along this journey we're on that have cause us to question moving forward and although we were unable to find a place, we are not discouraged. Just the opposite we have been encouraged! Our faith has even been strengthened to trust God deeper and rely heavily on His provision. We want more than ever to see this plan unfold exactly how God intends for it to, and if that means nailing down a house hours before we leave, then so it shall be! Our calling to follow God on this journey to Vancouver is still the same. We know God has just the perfect home in mind for us, and so we continue to pray for His perfect timing.
Blessings!
