Our Story

Nathan and I were married on April 25th of 2009.  We decided that summer to put into motion a call to ministry we felt God had placed on both our hearts during our engagement. So in September of 2009 we started our Discipleship Training School (DTS) with the non-denominational Christian organization Youth with a Mission (YWAM).  Our six month DTS was located in Vancouver. It consisted of a three month lecture phase on topics such as hearing the voice of God, identity in Christ and Biblical view of justice. Next was a 40 day outreach in Montreal followed by a unique chance to put our faith into action during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and Paralympics. We left our DTS with hearts changed for the Kingdom of God and a desire to serve Jesus with all of our lives. We returned home in the spring of 2010 to start a family. Nathan resumed work as a Realtor and I as a Public Health Nurse. Rosyn was born March 12th of 2011 and Penelope September 3rd of 2012. Shortly after Penelope’s birth Nathan and I felt the tug on our hearts to return to Vancouver, this time as staff with YWAM NEXIA. Our passion is to see hearts so inspired by Christ’s love, that they must live their lives recklessly and radically for His glory. In August of 2013 we will move to Vancouver and begin our two year commitment to work full time with YWAM.

What We'll Be Doing

Nathan will be staffing Discipleship Training Schools with the role of facilitating and mentoring students during their 3 month lecture phase and leading a 3 month outreach phase. The outreach phase will involve going overseas with DTS students.

Nathan will also help facilitate YWAM NEXIA’s School of Ministry and Leadership Development

Nathan will collaborate with members of the leadership team in teaching, organizing schools, and contributing to the organizations growth and development.

Jenny will stay home with the girls and contribute with facilitating and mentoring when possible as well as maintain casual employment as a Registered Nurse.
